In June 2024, the North West London Health & Social Care Skills academy was appointed as the official representative for NW London to assist displaced senior carers who have lost their jobs due to the revocation of their employer's sponsorship license.
Since then, the team has been actively providing comprehensive advisory services to enhance employability and secure new opportunities for those affected. The team also provide pastoral support to employed senior carers who are feel unsupported in their place of work by referring them to relevant services to address their concerns.
Currently, they are supporting approximately 150 displaced individuals, offering guidance and assistance to help them navigate their career transition.
The team recently supported David Yeboah, who lost his job but with the help of the team managed to secure new employment and is now thriving at his new place of work.
“ NWLIRSUPPORT assisted to restore my dream of living and working in the UK after my sponsors licence was revoked. You have been more than resourceful from the first day I contacted you. From regular online meetings, to providing several trainings on how to effectively write CVs and Cover Letters and guiding us on how to answer interview questions. Your constant follow ups and support even after I secured an appointment has left a lasting impression in my heart. I am eternally grateful to the entire team for your tireless efforts and dedication which has got me this far.” David Yeboah Displaced International Social Care Worker
