Nursing Education Lead / Nursing OSCE Lead

Giovanna Rotundi

My name is Giovanna Rotundi and I am honored to work as the Nurse Education Lead for North West London Health and Social Care Skills Academy. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, a Master's degree in Nursing and Leadership, as well as a Master's degree in Economics.

I also lead on the Nursing OSCE Programme, supporting internationally educated nurses to prepare for and successfully pass their NMC OSCE exam.

I have been working within the NHS for over 10 years, gaining extensive experience in urology, gynecology, and stroke care. Prior to my current role, I worked as a Clinical Practice Educator in the Surgery and Cancer Division at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, where I focused on coaching staff, delivering training programs, and supporting the development of clinical skills to enhance patient care.

I am deeply passionate about advancing nursing education, fostering workforce development, and improving patient care outcomes across the health and social care sector. I am dedicated to ensuring that healthcare professionals have access to the training and resources they need to grow, thrive, and deliver exceptional care.

My name is Anna Hultsch. I have joined the Academy as a Midwifery Clinical Educator leading on the Midwifery OSCE training project for colleagues joining the NHS from abroad.

I have qualified in Germany and started my NHS career as a junior midwife at Ealing Hospital in 2010. I have since worked in various clinical roles at Trusts across Northwest London. Although I particularly enjoy working in midwife-led settings supporting woman and birthing people in having optimal care and experiences in their childbirth journey, I'm equally passionate about facilitating education and career development. As a Professional Development Midwife I have foremost worked with newly registered midwives. I'm currently completing a Master's degree in Global Maternal Health.

I believe that through staff education we can make a meaningful contribution to safer care and better outcomes across the sector.

Throwback to September: The NWL AHP Faculty organised for speech and language therapists working in various parts of local NHS organisations to deliver two taster mornings for T-level and BTEC students at Uxbridge College and West Thames College. What a month it’s been! July was full of impact, inspiration, and meaningful connections across North West London.

Here’s a glimpse of what we achieved together this month:

Explore & Inform Sessions – We ran 4 interactive sessions guiding future Health & Social Care professionals into Support Worker roles across Nursing, Midwifery, and AHPs.

Chelsea & Westminster Volunteering – 11 new volunteers successfully placed, with 25 roles supported, thanks to ongoing collaboration and community outreach.

Refugee Week at West London College – We met 80 amazing students and introduced them to entry-level careers in health and care.

Wembley Job Fair – We raised awareness of NHS and care sector roles, strengthened our network, and inspired Brent residents to explore careers that change lives.

West Thames Awards & Seetec Pluss Jobs Fair – From celebrating local student excellence to building new volunteering partnerships—our community spirit was front and centre.

CPD Spotlight – 1,200+ participants trained in vital care skills, including NG tube care, PEG/RIG feeding, and end-of-life support.
Care Leaver & Refugee Support – We continued to open doors, offering tailored guidance and opportunities for people rebuilding their lives through meaningful careers.

Collaboration in Action Forum – Leaders from across NHS, colleges and care came together to shape the future of workforce development in NWL.

Every session, fair, and forum moved us closer to a stronger, more inclusive care workforce.

When Michael Abbey received a 60-day notice from the Home Office to leave the UK, everything felt uncertain. As an international caregiver, switching employers in a new country can be a daunting and emotional process.
