The NWL Health & Social Care Skills Academy is proud to announce the launch of the NWL Midwifery OSCE Training Programme, designed to support Internationally Educated Midwives as they prepare for the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) – a critical step in the registration process with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC).
Joining the NHS from abroad can be a significant career transition, and this programme is here to bridge the gap. In collaboration with our partner Trusts, the training not only equips midwives with the tools they need to excel in their NMC exams but also offers pastoral care and networking opportunities to help participants feel supported during this journey.
Programme StructureThe training spans three weeks full-time and is facilitated by experienced clinical educators. It includes five comprehensive modules covering all NMC Midwifery OSCE stations, concluding with a practical session in a state-of-the-art simulation suite:
Professional Values
APIE (Assessment, Planning, Implementation, Evaluation)
Clinical Skills
Evidence-Based Practice
Mock Exam
This hands-on approach ensures that participants gain both the confidence and the competence needed to succeed.
For more information about the OSCE, visit the NMC OSCE webpage.
The NWL Midwifery OSCE Training Programme is another step forward in our commitment to supporting internationally educated healthcare professionals and strengthening the NHS workforce in North West London. We are excited to help midwives take this important step in their careers and look forward to seeing their success!
Stay tuned for more updates on our programmes and initiatives.
